Cole Heinowitz received her BA from the University of California, San Diego in 1995 and her PhD from Brown University in 2003. She is the author of two books of poetry, Daily Chimera (Incommunicado Press 1995) and The Rubicon (The Rest Press 2008), and the chapbook, Stunning in Muscle Hospital (Detour Press, 2002). Her poems have appeared in journals including The Poker, The Brooklyn Rail, Canwehaveourballback, HOW2, 6X6, Factorial!, and Mirage 4 Period(ical). She is also the author of a number of critical articles on Romantic poets such as Lord Byron, Robert Southey, Felicia Hemans, and Anna Laetitia Barbauld. Her book-length study, Rewriting Conquest: Spanish America and British Romanticism is forthcoming from Edinburgh University Press.


Paul Stephens teaches literature at Bard College, and recently earned a PhD in English from Columbia. He is currently completing two books, The Rhetoric of Literary Experiment and Minima Temporalia: Reflections from Diminishing Time. Earlier this year he presented collaborative writing and photomontage with Robert Weston at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Recent or forthcoming publications in Social Text, /nor, Rethinking Marxism, and Open Letter. For the 2009-2010 academic year, he was chosen for a junior faculty fellowship in poetics at Emory University.
